I love using these! Mine are printed on card stock, laminated and then glued on to fun foam.
A beginner student can use them to check out rhythm patterns in their pieces. Sometimes we lay them out to show the map or melodic contour of a section as we sing the pitches and then we’ll add letter cards. The fun foam is a great tactile tool.

These have been very useful as a “few minutes to fill” activity. I keep a pair of chop sticks in my bag for my students to tap out various rhythm combinations.
