Review – Fun and Learn Music
The website funandlearnmusic.com has a multitude of free worksheets to download and print. Yes, FREE! The worksheets are grouped into categories making them easy to find. The newest group includes Halloween and Thanksgiving themed worksheets.
Here are the different ways that I use the worksheets:
- Print one worksheet for the student to complete in the last two or three minutes of the lesson. The worksheet is used as reinforcement for whatever new topic the student may be learning.
- Make a packet to send home with the student. Some students love the worksheets so much that they want more to do at home.
- Use the iPad app “SproutBeat.” (sproutbeat.com) The app costs $19.99 and gives unlimited use of the worksheets. The teacher can even print worksheets from the app if a student has a hard time drawing on an iPad.
Pros of the worksheets:
- They are extremely colorful and appealing to students.
- They are simple. Even though they can be somewhat easy for students, they are a fun way to review music theory.
- They cover only one topic at a time making it extremely to use as reinforcement.
- The creators of Fun and Learn Music are constantly providing new worksheets. The app is updated weekly.
Cons of the worksheets:
- The worksheets are intended for young students. It would be great to see worksheets on some more advanced music theory topics.
Overall Grade: A
Other products available from Fun and Learn Music:
- Digital downloads to use for games/activities with students
- Workbooks (will be reviewed in a later post)

My younger students love the Fun and Learn Music worksheets! The simple concepts, concise worksheets, and bright colors have appealed to each student who has used them. Holiday-themed worksheets are a huge hit, and we can’t wait to see the Christmas ones!
