A new publication from FJH Publishing is The Creeps by Jason Sifford. Even though the pieces in this book are spooky, they don’t have Halloween titles like other books. I have some students who really love spooky music, so this is something we could use all year. Titles in the book include Darkness Falls, The Lonely Wrath, Arachnophobia, Transylvania, and many more.
The pieces are for the intermediate student. I’ve used The Creeps with a student in eighth grade and an adult who has been taking lessons for five years. My favorite piece in the book is Arachnophobia. Jason has composed it to sound like spiders running!
